Faile on film

This is a great little documentary/interview with NY street artists Faile. I personally love the way they produce artwork. They are experimental and fun - this video is testament to that.

'Vice caught up with the Patricks (Faile) for an Art Talk about their new tile installation entitled The 104 North 7th Project in New York.'

Previews from the upcoming 'In The Garage' show @ Blank Space Gallery

(Left) James Flames (Right) Joshua Budich

Here we have a selection of prints for the upcoming 'geek inspired' show at Blank Space Gallery, Connecticut (USA). View more of the upcoming artwork over at: insidetherockposterframe

In The Garage: 'Art Celebrating Geek Culture opens Friday at Blank Space Gallery in Connecticut. Inspired by Weezer's Blue Album staple "In The Garage" which shares a lot of theme's with The Beach Boy's "In My Room" is about the places we went as children and young adults where we felt safe, from the Mushroom Kingdom, the Garage Band, to fighting in the Ring against Bald Bull.  It harkens back to a simpler time in our lives when the most pressing issue was getting home from school to save the Princess, or covering three chord punk songs in the basement with friends.  It's the common shared pasts we've all had being  "geeks."  Finding within our own memories the idea that though we might have been playing Nintendo by ourselves, we were hardly alone.'

(Left) Matt Leunig (Right) Exclusive World Premier Tim Doyle

The show will feature exclusive work from

aelhra, aRT, Joshua Budich, Armando Chainsawhands, Tim Doyle, Nate Duval, Rene Gagnon, James Flames, Free Humanity, Matt Leunig, Moniker, Zeb Love, A. J. Masthay, Brain Methe, Russ Moore, Jermaine Rogers, Justin, Santora, Jay Shaw, Jon Smith, John Vogl (The Bungaloo) and David Welker.

ALSO

Exhibitor Joshua Budich has a new print called, 'Brutally Cool' - an obvious homage to Quentin Tarantino. It's a 12"x18", 5-color screenprint; signed and numbered, limited-edition 150, available now for $25.

New Star Wars toy documentary, 'Plastic Galaxy' - out later this year

"Plastic Galaxy: The Story of Star Wars Toys" is a documentary that celebrates the action figures, play sets, space ships, and props we grew up with as kids -- and still collect today. Through interviews with collectors, historians, former Kenner and Hasbro employees, and others, the film explores their history, influence, and continued impact on pop culture.

Also, check out this traier for Toys Are Us: A Revoloution in Plastic - which was made by the same toy geeks as Plastic Galaxy.

This is a trailer for the X-Ray Films documentary, Toys Are Us: A Revolution in Plastic, which explores the designer vinyl toy scene through interviews with artists, collectors, and fans. This is the first documentary in the world on the subject of designer toys, and is available on DVD through the X-Ray Films web site (www.xrayfilms.net).
