The Story of the Wu Tang Clan

Great documentary about the highs and lows of the Wu Tang Clan since they formed way back in 93. Although 36 Chambers is approaching 20 years old, it still sounds better than most music coming out today. The Wu are hip hop at its best.

Tupac performs Live at Coachella...2012...say what!?

This is a controversial stunt but there's no way I would be complaining if I was there to witness the force of 2Pac performing live (ish). Read more about Pac's digital resurrection HERE.

Shouts to the G-nius for dropping the knowledge on this one.

A competition for all you wannabe MC Hammer's out there. Feature on Gza's next album!

In conjunction with the launch of his new website, hip-hop ninja GZA is inviting fans to “put their MC skills to the test” in a contest called “Duel of the Iron Mic”, named after his track of the same name. The contest winner, which is also judged by GZA, will appear on a future GZA album.
To enter the contest, entrants must rap the first verse of the track “Liquid Swords”, record it on video, upload it to Vimeo, and posting it on GZA’s website. More info about the contest will be announced when the website launches next week.
About the contest, GZA said, “This contest was inspired by my countless tours all over the world where I would see my fans, many of them non-English speakers, reciting every lyric of the song back to me. It’s become clear to me that my music is appealing to a whole new generation: I’ve had a bunch of people tell me that they first heard my album because their parents listened to it. That might make some artists feel old but I’m happy that my music is still relevant today. I am honored that Liquid Swords the song and album have been so widely embraced for so long. This contest is one way of giving back to my fans, of letting them share their take on the record.”

Method Man, Masta Killa, and U-God tearing chunks

Check out Meth smashing it on his first verse - then U-God comes good with a bit of comedy (and a lot of flappy hand gestures), Masta Killa goes off the dome and a surprise beat sets up the grand finale.

Biggie - New Print By Joshua Budich

Streets of Beige are not usually ones for mixing hip hop with art but just look at this new Biggie print by Joshua Budich. BIG's still king of New York as he stares across the city skyline with the reflection in his glasses. There's a Tupac print aswel, follow the link below to take a look.

'Joshua Budich will be participating in this years joint venture between Spoke Art and Blunt Graffix, “Dead Rockstars” at the Oakland Art Murmur, showing April 2012.  He has created two powerful pieces for the event, “Biggie” and “Tupac”.  Both are 18 x 24 inch, three color screenprints.  Each is limited edtions of 100, signed and numbered by the artist.  The golds are super-metallic inks, the blacks are velvety smooth, and grays are like ice-cold steel. For more info on the prints please visit Joshua’s site.'

New 'greatest hits' album by U.K hip hop producer 184

U.K hip hop producer 184 has just released his 'greatest hits' album titled, "Where's My Parade?" This beatmaster doesn't f%*k about! His production is some of the tightest out there. This mixtape harks back to the late 90's/early 2000 era when British hip hop was at its best (IMHO). There's no Dappy here, just straight up nasty rhymes and pungent beats. Grab it now for a very affordable price tag of just £5.

Blurb: A chance to grab a large slice of his production back catalog featuring UK heavyweights such as Jehst , Fliptrix , Chester P, Stig of the Dump , Jam Baxter , Kashmere , Buggsy , Salvo , Enlish , Dirty Dike , Sonny Jim , Inja, Dubble Edge , Dr Syntax and more.

Digitally remastered & available exclusively via the King Kong Holding Co Bandcamp:  http://kingkongholdingco.bandcamp.com/album/wheres-my-parade

Blacastan 'The Master Builder Part II' - available now!

UGHH write:

'Known for his classic hard core style, no-sellout attitude, and a true life story that would make the most street minded A&R blush, rhyme animal Blacastan has cemented his name in the annals of hip hop over the last few years.

Blac follows up the success of his "pre" albums The Master Of Reality, The Master Builder, his full length debut opus Blac Sabbath, an Australian tour with Celph Titled and countless song stealing guest verses on albums by artists such as Jedi Mind Tricks and Apathy with his most ambitious project to date: the 44 track, 2 disc spanning The Master Builder Part II. Boasting all new recordings and complete with a holographic 3D cover image, MBII gives a nod to the 90's NYC mixtape history teaming Blac up with legendary DJ Doo Wop plus Peter Parker for a full street mix of the album. This blended bonus disc also includes exclusive non-album version cuts including "Thru The Rain" featuring La Coka Nostra rapper/Hollywood actor sensation Slaine.

A truly limited edition release, MBII starts 2012 off strong for Blacastan, a year that sees him as a full fledged member of The Demigodz super crew (he will be featured heavily on their upcoming album as well as the new Army Of The Pharaohs record) in addition to prepping his official sophomore full length.'

Not convinced? Check out 'The Booth' below and let Blac sell it to you...
