A competition for all you wannabe MC Hammer's out there. Feature on Gza's next album!

In conjunction with the launch of his new website, hip-hop ninja GZA is inviting fans to “put their MC skills to the test” in a contest called “Duel of the Iron Mic”, named after his track of the same name. The contest winner, which is also judged by GZA, will appear on a future GZA album.
To enter the contest, entrants must rap the first verse of the track “Liquid Swords”, record it on video, upload it to Vimeo, and posting it on GZA’s website. More info about the contest will be announced when the website launches next week.
About the contest, GZA said, “This contest was inspired by my countless tours all over the world where I would see my fans, many of them non-English speakers, reciting every lyric of the song back to me. It’s become clear to me that my music is appealing to a whole new generation: I’ve had a bunch of people tell me that they first heard my album because their parents listened to it. That might make some artists feel old but I’m happy that my music is still relevant today. I am honored that Liquid Swords the song and album have been so widely embraced for so long. This contest is one way of giving back to my fans, of letting them share their take on the record.”

Action Figure of Wu-Tang Clan's RZA as Blind Master from the upcoming movie, 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation'

This is very exciting news if your a fan of toys AND the Wu Tang Clan - which Streets of Beige certainly are! Above we see a new action figure of character 'Blind Master' from the upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation movie. The person playing Blind Master just so happens to be Mr Robert Diggs aka, the RZA! So, inadvertently we get a cool Wu-Tang figure, (lets face it the Ghostface doll wasn't all that).

We will keep you updated on the release date of these figures. If this guy doesn't make my toy collection, I don't know what will!?

'RZA will be portraying the Blind Master, who in the world of G.I. Joe: Retaliation is one of the Arashikage ninja masters who taught Snake-Eyes, Storm Shadow and his protégé Jinx.'

Wu-Sciples print illustrated by Adam Hathorn and released via Two Rabbits Studios

To celebrate the 20yr anniversary of the Wu Tang Clan dropping the ultimate hip hop album, 'Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers)', Two Rabbits Studios are releasing this print of the whole clan getting busy on their last supper. I wonder if Raekwon cooked up that feast? I love the little touches like Ghost rockin' the fishscale, RZA having a sneaky game of chess, ODB throwing up the W and a swarm of killa Bees looming ominously overhead....SU!

ON SALE MONDAY JANUARY 30th 12 NOON PST
The Blurb from Two Rabbits Studios:
What better way to celebrate Wu-Tang’s 20 year anniversary than with the release of Wu-Sciples, a ten color print celebrating one of the rawest groups in music. This print has been a long time in the making for us at Two Rabbits. When we had the idea we knew only one person could illustrate it right, Adam Hathorn aka Honkey Kong. We were already major fans of Adams work. He has illustrated jobs for us, been a great host when we were in San Diego and he is one of the best tattoo artist we know. Adam is also Wu obsessed, like us. With that said here is Adam in his own words…

“So far as my memory takes me, my introduction to Wu Tang was when 36 chambers was released in 93. I had to wikipedia that, my memory is not that good. My friend Strobe Beats played me “Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing ta Fuck Wit” on a walk man, or some shit, in the cafeteria. The beat made me wanna punch people, much like the hard core and punk rock music that I was listening to at the time. I immediately got a copy, and it was on constant rotation. That was what got me back into hip hop music. Previously I was listening to alot of Public Enemy and alot of the native tongue stuff, Tribe Called Quest, LONS, De La etc. After that hip hop was getting boring. I was young and turned to hard core music, especially in Boston where it thrived at that time. When Wu came with that raw sound with production that was stripped down and unpolished, it was an easy step back in. Wu Tang has been a huge part of music in my life since. I’m sure there’s been few days since that have passed without me hearing Wu in some form. I tattoo all day, or draw all day, so there’s some form of music always playing, and there’s plenty on shuffle.
I was lucky enough to be asked by the guys at Two Rabbits Studios to create the “Wu-sciples” print. Their idea was solid out ofthe gate. Wu Tang last supper with Big Baby Jesus front and center. I said sign me up. The illustration took a bit to do since they’re artist deep, but nonetheless a fun project. Thanks for choosing me to do this print, see you Saturday for the show….. Wu Tang is FOREVER!” -Adam Hathorn
