Print on water colours - tree stencil

I used my tree stamp with lino print colour and made a print on top of the pink circle. The circle is just artistic water colours (you know how I love them!).

To get a little bit more of a structured / strange patterned colour I added some salt cristals on the still wet surface. The salt cristals will start to soak the water inside and create this little patterns.

I just use normal salt from the kitchen for this effect.

If you want to see transfered the stencil / image of the tree silhouette onto a rubber stamp carving plate - just have a look here [How to transfer pictures for stamp carving...]

Or have a look how I created the tree silhouette from a foto [Tree stencils]

My vintage eastern critter - playing with the rabbit

This is the leftover of a rabbit I cut out of an old book page. It was just per accident that I laid it on my "try-it-all" book cover. Doens't it look great? I took a picture and again: I played with all the photo editing features of picasa. Oh.... and no... I can't decide which one would be my favorite! I love them all! A little bit to late for eastern this year... but next year I will print some of the pictures in a high quality to make some cards out of them!

Keys

The same playing around with images I did with the little birds I also did with some keys. I want to make necklaces out of them. This is not my idea but the idea of Lachafa! My sister had an old and long chain from the 80s and searched for a big key to use as pendant. So here we go with supersize key pendants! (it looks cool on her, maybe she'll get me a better picture to show you... I hope you just read this, sister ^^).

But here again... the picasa effects like lomo...

...and I forgot how all the others are named...

But I like the different images! All useable for some cards or scrapbooking...

Feel free to use the images! If you need a higher resolution, just ask me per mail :)

And please link back here if you use them :)

Birds

This birds I found as spring decoration stuff. They are really tiny... and I had to paint them. After that I thought: Why not create some images with them before I use them to make earrings? ^^

Of course I just had this thought because I wanted to play with the picasa image effects!

But I think they would make cute little cards if you print them out! So feel free if you would like to! And if you want a higher resolution, just write me an email and I'll send it to you :)

Find the deer....!

Although not perfect (it also was -of course- an experiment so no need to be perfect) I really like this image and it is going to be used for some cards :)

I cut out a deer shape (not my own one but drawn from an deer shaped ornament), placed it on some plastic and started to draw all over the plastiv with a laquer pen. The idea was that the deer would come out due to the missing parts in the ornaments (aka strange pattern).

The original drawing didn't survive the next experiment: Bake the plastic (it was a polystyrene plastic sheet). The baking was perfect but during the baking / shrinking the plastic curled up too much and was baked in a wrinkled way. Yes, I had to laugh seeing this ^^

But I made pictures before because I already plannend on printing this image, so this is saved at least!

As you may have noticed: Yes I draw lines and dots where the second back leg should have been... But I think if one doesn't knows the original deer, one wouldn't notice ;)

Pop-up bird!

I am surrounded by chaos. There are two main sources (if you look one step down of the main source = me ^^): Crafting items and scientific paper stuff. Mh...

While I tried to get rid of a little bit of the chaos (forcing a lot of energy against the entropy)... I stumpled over this card. There was this though... I like the bird and the silhouette, but the background is... strange at best.

It is a free card like there are many ones in cafes and stores (you have them too?).
This one is an edcard from   saxony about the wildlife in saxony....

I just cut out the bird with the tree...

...pressed a line in the cardboard...
...folding...

Not even a five minute project... it only took a minute ^^

Added to my ever growing picture wall...*

*if you find a spider or a spiderweb, feel free to take it! ^^

Snailmail!

I confess: I love to get letters and cards!

The real snail mail :) No email and no phone call gives this special feeling...!

This beautiful card was waiting for me in my letter box. Isn't it beautiful?! I am still thinking is would be great as a fabric. It was made by centi (with other ones as well, take a look!)

She was so cool to send me one of the cards she made just because I asked whether I could get one! :)

It made my day :)

Silhouette cards and tags... (I love aceton transfer!)

I just had to make some cards by aceton transfer now that I have some prints from a new laser printer (No, not mine *sniff*). I thought that the combination of the cardboard and the pictures you get with an aceton transfer would go great together.

And yes, in my point of view the old cardboard with the little bit rough structure of the surface and the worn out / rubbish (a little bit vintage, shaby...? don't know the actual nomenclature ^^) look of the black ink turned out to be a real good combination :)

I made a little collection of cards...

My crow stencil...

...you see my little mistake? The script is mirror inverted!

...of course the zebra isn't missing...

...one of my earlier loves from Karens graphics fairy!

To the left you can see the print after the transfer...

I tried several different methods (or better said a little bit different procedures...). I won't write them down just concetrate on the most important thing for the transfer:

Lay your print onto the desired surface (also wood or fabric is working quite well!).
Put a little bit aceton on a paper tissue and NOT on your print!
Now you have to be fast:
Press the paper tiessue with the aceton on your print.

And I mean "press"! It is only during the first contact with the aceton (or other kind of solvent you are using but aceton works best for me) that the colour starts bleeding. As soon as the aceton dries again the colour won't ever be transferable again (regardless how much aceton you would spill over the print). Also without the pressure the colour won't bleed into your target but stays in the print.

Look at the picture below: On the left side I used some pressure but put the aceton direct over the print. On the right side I used the procedure described above.

In short I would say: Pressure and aceton should be used at exact the same time!

And of course I used some of the tags I cut out yesterday ^^

You see how my skill improved?

The horse is an image from graphics fairy. I also made the cat and the swallow stencil from picutres from graphics fairy (Oh, I just love her collection!) The crow and the tree stencil are my own graphics :)

I have a lot more stencils and things I made by using them, just have a look if you like or jump over here for how to make your own one :)

Zebra cards...

After christmas you'll propably send some thank you cards. This cards I made with the cool zebra from Karen @ graphics fairy.

Seems that if I fell in love with a graphic I really have to use it for several projects before moving on ^^ But hey, this zebra is really special!

I printed it out and just put two-side adhesive tape on the back. Two-side or double-side adhesive tape is one of the best things ever for such projects!

And I just cut the zebra out.

I found these great papers at our chinese super market.

They are something called "Weihpapier" which I would translate as blessing paper. Aren't they beautiful?

I made one with the silver and one with the golden paper.
As background I used grey cardboard, black cardboard and an old bookpage.

Just look at the texture!

Mh.. have to think what else to make out of this paper! Any ideas? Want some too? :)
