All the dishes.... no end to tentacles and jellys!

I already posted a little teaster some while ago. Here now the finished stuff! Like most times, it was finished some time ago.

It is (was) the birthday present for my sister (who also now started studying and living in a flat share). It was no surprise because she already knew what I was making for her. Nevertheless she didn't see everything up until now ^^

Two cups with saucer (they are not small ones! ^^)... salt and pepper shaker... two big plates... two large bowls which also could be used as soup plates... a milk jug and a sugar jar (I just liked them don't really think she needs them ^^)...

All the dishes are safe for the dish washer (I hope the colour also in a long term ^^), for the oven and the microwave... and not to fragile... made out of hard porcellain...

By the way, did you know that the english fine bone porcellain is made with up to 50% bonemeal? This gives the smooth gloss and the transparency... I just stumbled on this on accident and although the name already suggest it, it really never occured to me that for example this fine bone porcellain cups from england are animal products. How strange...

And all of them full with tentacles or jelly fishes!

What can I say? I love them!

I made them some time ago as a present but only can show it now after giving them to the intended person :)

 

And of course these paints I use for ceramics (and glas) are on an acrylic paint base. Therefore I can create structures with them: Suckers on the tentacles! Can you see it? ^^

Just some impressions of the dishes I paint for Lachafa. A collection with jellys and tentacles. What else?!

I will get you all the pictures as soon as they are finished but just as a little life sign for you (so you know that I am doing stuff! - keeping my word).

Okay, I won't even try to explain this joke. Let me just say it is some family stuff and it is (at least for Lachafa and myself) a funny as well as strange one. Translated it would mean something like:

I am the monster.

I am the blobb.

You are the monster.

You are the blobb.

Blobb (or just blob)... like the slimy things in old horror movies! Which eats and destroys and assimilates everything on its way!

Jelly fish card - oil pastel

Long time ago sinced I used oil pastels. Long time... mh... loooooooooooong time... 10 years... 20 years...? Hum...

I need some more training but also I need some oil pastels for myself (I used the ones of a friend). They are really nice to paint with, I like the kind of lines and colours you can get.

White lobster - card and envelope

I am experimenting with colours and techniques... for this card I used a silver laquer pen for the background and just the lobster stamp with white embossing power... the envelope is just the jelly fish stamps with white embossing powder... white over white.. I love it.. with the silver.. the effect is quite cool but not perfect.. i think either without background... or the background with a more covering pattern... or the lobster not in white.. (lachafa suggested)

...but I like the metallic light effect of the silver colour...! (a little bit difficult to catch with the digi)

More stamps...

...because my twin needle broke... *sniff*

I have several sewing projects at the moments... all with jersey fabric... but without these needle (No, I don't have an overlock one...) all the work stopped. Inevitably.

Therefore... more carved rubber stamps! The last leftover of the big rubber plate for a mini jelly fish... and an normal school rubber for a bigger version...

Still not what I have in mind but good practice ^^
